A tree decorating contest was held by the resort employees to raise money for needy families in the Branson community.  There were 3 trees that you could vote for....The one on the first floor of the Welk hotel, pictured above, was decorated with pictures and ornaments in remembrance of Mr. Welk.  There was also a big portrait of Lawrence by the tree.  Voting was done via contributions and the tree that 'raises' the most money will be the winner.
