“U.S. Tour”

Host:  Mary Lou Metzger with guest Tanya Welk-Roberts

ORIGINAL AIR DATE:   June 21, 1969

As Lawrence says in his opening remarks, he’s played almost every small town in the United States – and every state but Alaska – so he takes a special interest in this musical tour of the country. Things get underway with the entire chorus and orchestra and “This Land Is Your Land,” Ralna sings “By the Time I Get to Phoenix,” then Bob Ralston ripples off a piano medley of New York songs, and Sandi and Sally ask “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?” Jo Ann Castle does a Castle-version of “On the Beach at Waikiki” and Myron Floren noodles through an infectious “Pittsburgh, Pa”.
